On Aug. 17, 1914, at the age of 37, he suddenly became ill and died at his melbourne property valuers home in Bellevue. A member of the Christian Science faith and the Newport Elks, he was placed to rest in a vault at Evergreen Cemetery in Southgate, but his body was later moved to Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati for burial.
